Writing Rules
A self-referent and humorous way of illustrating the rule within the rule is William Safire's Rules; that is, instead of presenting writing rules or showing examples of violations, this is a list of bad grammar sentences about good grammar. It's a two-fer as well as a keeper! [Tectag: writing grammar]

I am a huge Safire fan. During my foray into Librarian School, I actually thought I'd become a newspaper librarian to do exactly what he does w/ research on word entymology.
Thanks for stopping by my corner of the www.
Good one! I'm gonna print it out and keep it nearby.
Inspiration comes in the weirdest forms.

I have a feeling that'd even be funny sober.
To be a violation of the rule it expounds, one of those sentences should say:
Verbs has to agree with their subject.
And, of course, I disagree with some of these rules, as do many grammarians.
