In the June 5, 2005, issue of Parade magazine, Andrew Vachss presented a thought-provoking view of how we use the language to talk about child abuse. In Watch Your Language, Vachss contends we "distort the reality of the crime and create a roadblock to justice." He offers brutal but honest definitions for the obfuscating terms he claims are promulgated by "cultural lobbyists" in a "carefully orchestrated campaign to warp public perception". Read. Think.
