The two sides of my brain collided when I received an email from Suzanne Axtell about the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference (ETech 2007) "Sufficiently Advanced Technology". In her news release, Auxtell noted:According to Arthur C. Clarke, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." But just how advanced is sufficiently advanced? Clarke's Third Law provides the inspiration for the next ETech, the O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference. The 2007 edition of the conference is all about magical innovations and will reveal the sufficiently advanced technology behind them.I wouldn't know whether to attend for the techiness, which I love, or the magic and inspiration for science fiction writing, which I also love.
