Cross-Posting Writing
It's no PostSecret that I participate in mailing lists, forums and sometimes in chats all over the Internet. It's no secret because I use the same name (my own) everywhere I post. If you want to build credibility, why use a pseudonym or "screen name", as they're often called? I'm most active on the Writer's Digest forum, sometimes writing about posts from this blog and sometimes creating different messages tailored just for those participants. One of those special posts caught the eye of the WD newsletter editor, who featured it in this week's edition (8/7/07). I'm honored! It is also a good illustration of how your work might be used without your consent or knowledge if it is posted on some websites. The WD Forum is right up front about this possibility in its guidelines.Labels: technology, writers, writing
