I join you in the love and use of cross-pollination. The various arts have a lot to offer writers. I've found inspiration and insight from dancers, choreographers, and artists. New experiences always trigger new thought. Drifting through a fabric shop while fingering the merchandise is a grand tactile exercise in texture. Julia Cameron writes of the need for regular dates with your creativity and emphasis the same type of escapes.
Thanks for your juicy comment, Vikk -- long time no .... It's good to know I am in such illustrious company. I'll have to try the tactile tack. I love to palm velvet, and I've noticed strong urges to touch every piece of art that allows it.
Thanks, Georganna. Sure you're not really an undercover Elvis fan? You wouldn't have any black velvet hanging on the walls, would you?
I see I was a wee bit sleepy when I commented since spelling emphasized was a hurdle I couldn't complete. :)
If you get a chance, drop by my place and share your process for building characters. I've started a new feature today that will be repeated on Fridays with different questions.
