
Publishers have a new competitor in Amazon (in addition to the self-publishing options available with the Kindle). Rachael Deahl reported last Thursday in
Publishers Weekly that
Amazon Launches Publishing Program.
In addition to the hardcover, Amazon will release Legacy as an audiobook (through Audible) and as an e-book (as a Kindle edition). The imprint called
Encore
specifically targets previously self-published and perhaps out of print books. It begins with the improbable
Legacy
written by 16-year-old Cayla Kluver, and published with the help of her mother. The ambitious midwesterners call their publishing company Forsooth.
