Monetize Your Blogs
The latest scheme I've heard is Bloggapedia's syndication plan, wherein a blogger would receive 30% of 30% of a minimal amount every time someone downloads A Writer's Edge to a mobile device. Do you want to read blogs on your phone? I'm doubtful, but I could be very wrong and miss the boat with this one.
Other more tested strategies include hosting advertising on your blog site. I prefer outrightly selling ad space over installing AdSense or one of the other pay-per-click
Nonetheless, if you're intent on taking the easy way, joining blog networks is another option. They make money by distributing advertising across networks of website properties, sharing earnings with site owners, based on the amount of traffic generated. For your blog to qualify, it needs to have a good visitor rate, display fresh specific content and you must keep up the pace of posting. Networks you can explore include:

Very good information. I knew about Adsense but not the others. Have you used any of these?
Hi Ana, Thanks for the visit and for commenting. The only one on this list that I have looked at is B5media, and I only knew that as one that incorporated already successful blogs. I've also investigated ones with no traffic restrictions, but am not impressed with either the ad sizes, appearances or content.
I loved hosting the shopping service that I had for a year or so, but that company changed strategies when Google destroyed its original PageRank system and messed up the rankings of many good blogs.
This blog networking sounds like something I should look into.
It's just a pain going through so many terms and conditions on various websites trying to see if I can include advertising on my blog from more than one place. Some are happy to have their ads on your blog or website on the same pages as adverts or campaign banners from other sites, while others aren't. I'd like to come across a list somewhere that goes something like this:
An ad from this site/program can only appear on blog or website pages that do (or don't) also display ads from these pay per click, networking, or affiliate sites: (then list them),
and then move onto the next one in the main list
An ad from this site/program can only appear....
etc etc
It would make it so much easier to know what one can safely put on their pages without being banned from any of the programs.
I wonder if it wouldn't be worth the trouble for any of these affiliate sites to research a few other affiliate sites and to compile a list on their own site for viewers or potential affiliates, so people can see straight away, "okay, it's fine to use this affiliate site's ads or banners along with a or b or c that I'm already using, and the affiliate site with this helpful list might even get more clients for having gone to the trouble.
Although, perhaps there are helpful lists like this somewhere on the Internet already - I should just look I guess.
You have a great blog - keep it up!
Teresa
Thanks for visiting and commenting, Teresa. Running ads and affiliating are slightly different and both differ from joining a blog network like those listed above. First you need a lot of rich content to attract many visitors.
Good luck in your endeavors!
